WINTER WANES

I’m like a lot of other Minnesotans (who don’t own snowmobiles or ice fish) in that I vacillate between appreciation of a fresh blanket of snow to wearily accepting theseemingly endless assault of winter.

 So I was a bit relieved when, earlier this week, the temperature hit 40 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time since the beginning of November. I could almost smell spring. 

 But after a few days, the refreshing non-grueling weather turned Minnesota into a grey purgatory. Beware of the Ides of March, don’t ya know.
